WOO DEM NI99AZ KILLED RUCKUS REAL TALK
December 16th, 2007 at 4:57 am
lol ruckus get’s fucked up in 2 episodes in a row. first by jericho then by huey and riley.
December 16th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
A bit weaker than the previous one about Katrina, but still highly enjoyable. I loved the way Huey incarcerated Riley. Kinda reminds me of how I treat my younger brother sometimes.
I hope the next one deals with political issues. Those episodes are still better. The non-political ones feel a bit tame.
December 16th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
LMAO wanna playy cops n robbers?
bitch this all u got?

December 16th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
Lmaoo…funny episode. Gotta love Riley and Huey. They stay fighting. Did anyone notice when Grandad came home Riley had on the orange jumpsuit…but when they ran up to greet him, his outfit completely changed?
December 17th, 2007 at 12:37 am
i hate when people repeat something from the show like we didnt catch that. then half the time they adding shit to it
December 17th, 2007 at 3:12 am
I like the the episodes that deal with real or political issues, this one felt like a fill-in for the season. Uncle Ruckus was the only highlight of this episode, but overall it was a very weak effort. For me, Ruckus is the funniest character of the series. The way he delivers his punch-line is exceptional. Riley is my second favorite, mostly because of his ignorance.
December 17th, 2007 at 4:09 am
One of the funniest episodes! Riley’s character is developing leaps and bounds. The Huey-Riley dynamic is great commentary for how rough little boys play and fight! Riley’s constant cursing and n-wording on the couch cracked me up!
December 17th, 2007 at 7:14 am
kj shut up, I didn’t notice the orange jumpsuit mistake either. Calm down, it isn’t that serious.
But anyway, I loved this episode…so far, it’s the best episode thus far in the second series. I love the sad song that plays when they show huey and riley.
December 17th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
LOL…..This was a good episode,I like the way Huey turns he’s whole brother fighting into some potical message…..lol.They were trying to say that we shouldn’t be fighting each other.
These shows are not for your entertainment alone but for you to overcome ignorance by deciphering the hidden messages. So whether or not you enjoyed the show or not,who cares, question is did you get the message?
In this one though it truly showed brotherly interaction,it reminded me when my brother used to fight….lol.We would go at it for hours, from words to fists…but it was all love….
Did you see how they became friends just cause Granpa came home…..lol.Yeah well Boondock crew continue to teach!
Oh yeah,kj people quote their favourite part of the episode. They don’t quote it to imply that you haven’t seen it so why are you trying to create a n*gga moment?

Cause I figured you would destroy my house…. hmm doesnt look to bad
December 18th, 2007 at 7:57 am
i dont get why people love uncle ruckus so much. he’s funny to me because he’s a manifestation of black self-hatred. just like tom is the uncle tom. it seems that this show is suffering from the same syndrome that made chappelle stop doing chappelle’s show. people aren’t getting the satire or even know what satire is. they’re just laughing at him because he’s making fun of our people. a lot of children love this show apparently they have a rating on it for a reason. 17 and up.
December 18th, 2007 at 7:58 am
and if you’re over 17 and still don’t get it maybe your mind isn’t developed enough.

i dont think white people should watch this show
it confuses them on what it is appropriate to say and what isnt.
December 20th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
WORD to CHIEF
can’t people see that the show has slowly begun to change its agenda? Before they were dealing with issues that actually effect people and their lives whereas now people reduce this show to cheap laughs at ignorance and stereotypes.. the moral of the story has been mitigated from self-respect and social criticism to the cliche tale of brotherly feuding and love..
ridiculous..
although, i will concede its a hella funny show.. but maybe to societies detriment because most people ignore the message and the message has been changing
December 20th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
Yo the song played anybody know how i can find them
December 21st, 2007 at 1:23 pm
ridiculous you cant say that other people are ignoring the shows changing message and are watching it for cheap laughs at stereotypes and then say “its hella funny” the next. well actually you can but you just make yourself a hypocrite. next time THINK before you decide to post a comment.
I think or wait i KNOW your mother dropped you on your head when you were a child
December 22nd, 2007 at 3:12 pm
..Well I can’t speak for others!
But I’m well aware of the message that is underlined by each episode!
And it is this message that i take away with me, long after I’ve watched the said epioside!
The laughs, jokes and amusement contined within the shows, are just there to make it an entertaining show as well touching on issues that affect some folks!
Not everybody will grasp the message,!
Some will remember it for all the hilarity and ridiculous comments.
While others will point out the laughs, but will also point out the message that can be derived by watching the show!!
It is What It Is!!
P.s regardless..Uncle Ruckus is Funny!!!!!
December 22nd, 2007 at 3:14 pm

this is not a political show.
politics are frequently written in, yes, but it not something to watch solely for that. what’s wrong with having an episode that develops the characters? the people trying to pigeonhole the series as ’social commentary from the black perspective ‘ need to step back and realize that politics aren’t everything. it’s alright to have a little fun with your characters, too.
December 29th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Whats the song playing when riley and huey are fighting in the beginning?
December 30th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
okay, did anybody understand the political message of this episode? so far every comment I read resulted in disapointment!
People, Huey and Riley foght against the opression of Ruckus, toghether. Now, understand that Huey was dressed as a comunist when he encarcerated Riley and that’s for a reason! The story is kind of a representation of the comunist countries’ situation, though I ain’t saying every comunist country is like that and I don’t mean to insult any comunist, as I am somewhat comunist my self.
You see, Huey, as the older brother, knew what was better for Riley, but still Riley didn’t gave a fuck and didn’t listen to him, because Riley is IGNORANT. He represents the people, in this case, black people, who are becoming more and more ignorant, just like the opressors want all black people to be. Now, Huey encarcerated his younger brother to protect both of them. He, a revolutionary and comunist character, sudently became a dictator, a ruthless dictator with “Supreme authority over the house” willing to destroy any opposition. He gave Riley some food, he kept Riley alive, but he kept him in a miserable life, controling his actions with brute force and always whatching with a gun! They started hating each other more and more… And then Huey makes a remarkable statement: “I summed for God wich one of us was the prisioner…” They were both prisioners. That’s the result of losing order… Order is represented by grandad (ain’t that some irony). When grandad came back it was all good and they both respected order and went to clean the house, toghether, as BROTHERS.
The ideia this episode transmited to me is that we all need to love and respect each other as brothers… And, if you want the people to become socialy conscient and wise you must make efforts to educate them! Huey just took control over his brother’s life, and that was a mistake that destroied his life as much as Riley’s.
This is my reading of the episode, MY interpretation, and I don’t mean to insult any other interpretation… As there might be many more possible interpretations and readings of this episode. It was my favorite so far and I would ask you people to stop posting comments with no meaning if you can’t understand shit. Oh, and escuse my english, I’m just a 16 year old kid that ain’t from an english speaking country.
PEACE*
PS: A very important thing about this show, this is supposed to make people LAUGH, don’t stress too much.
December 31st, 2007 at 11:07 am
wow Zulu is deep! i dnt get to whole message until u summed it up. Kudos
ps. they made it seem like granddad was gone for a month. they had to ration food and everything lol i loved the narration in this episode especially!
January 1st, 2008 at 11:36 pm
the song when riley is a prisoner is ADAGIO FOR STRINGS by Samuel Barber
January 2nd, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Good summary Zulu! I think you did just about as good as a job as anyone else in getting something from it. And thats the whole point. If You remember the “Black Jesus” episode, Huey is explaining the truth behind Christmas and Grandad just turns him out. Grandad then says he knows it was the thruth but it was too boring.
Aaron isnt just trying to reach the people that are aware of politics in this country, hes also trying to reach the ones that are somewhat aware, but also want somehting fun to watch. Hes also tryin to make some money too.
Its a tough balance to make, but thats why he (hopefully) gets paid so much to do it :).

I love this episode. Tom is a joker and the Freemans are the Freemans, Huey rules.
January 26th, 2008 at 9:21 am
Zulu, that is a very astute interpretation of this episode. I’m over 15 years older than you, and the Communist reference completely rolled over my head.
Bravo!
February 3rd, 2008 at 2:16 am
All of Aaron McGruder’s episodes of Boondocks have underlying meanings like the one described by Zulu..that’s why I love and support the Boondocks. Although its satirical, I hope that people are grasping what is portrayed in the Boondocks…I hope that we see the mirror McGruder that is holding up to our society and educating ourselves to all be better knowledgeable people…
Peace…read a book
