this is where they got the episode from. The true story is actually quite funnier than the parody the boondocks did. Even though this episode is funny.
The white teacher says “can you lend a Nigga a pencil. AHAHAHAHAh….ROFLMAO…this nigga is a fool.
January 20th, 2008 at 5:22 am
why are white people so infatuated with the word nigger or nigga? i don’t understand. white people want to say it and do say it especially when there are no black people around. No one should say nigger or nigga but when a white person says it, it’s meant to demean and is rooted in hatred. if whites believe it’s such a horrible word then they just shouldn’t say it. and anyways why does everyone believe that blacks and whites are the same? the way we use the english language is different than the way whites use the english language. the same way that australians, brittish, and the united states use the language differently.
January 20th, 2008 at 6:34 am
“and anyways why does everyone believe that blacks and whites are the same?”
I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s what that Civil Rights Movement was going for.
This episode was great. The season started off strong but I was disappointed with the middle; glad to see things picking up again with these last few episodes.
January 20th, 2008 at 8:53 am
CHIEF, why are you putting this information on this website. Why do you think anyone cares what you think? I don’t understand why anyone should care about your opinion? You know what, no one cares about your opinion. Please stop posting your opinion, it just makes you look like a fool who can’t keep his/her mouth shut. Thank you, hae a nice day.
January 20th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Great episode. I hope the level stays as high as in this one for the remainder of the second season.
I like how they did a spoof on Larry King and his awful sensationalism.
January 20th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
This is a great episode for MLK day. It shines some light on a controverial issue. I watched what actually happened on youtube (thanks Boosie) and they did a perfect re-enactment..right down to the newswoman Stacy Renee and Riley with the “Avid reader” glasses on. Good epiosode
January 21st, 2008 at 12:28 am
The same question could be asked to you, “This message is for Chief”. Why are you posting your opinion, which is decidedly less valid than his? Because you have the right to just as he has the right to. Please don’t post such demeaning comments while you are on this website.
January 21st, 2008 at 3:37 am
hey Chief,
I understand you’re sincerely imploring someone for an explanation, but you’ve managed to be significantly insulting along the way. White people aren’t a collective supermind, we all feel differently about the word “nigger”. Furthermore, you’re idea that every time a white person says “nigger” it’s meant to be hurtful is absurd. That’s like saying every time a black person says “hoe” they’re talking about prostitutes.
Its not like the history of racism and slavery that permeates American culture isn’t to be respected; its just that the human components of culture (e.g. language) are continuously changing to suit the needs of the people who breathe life into them. Nigger once was a slander against black people, but its slowly seeing different usages that are semantically inequivalent.
Racism is hatred or intolerance of another race or other races, and/or belief that ones race is superior - you know, just in case anyone forgot. Why you ask? Because some vocal American blacks seem to forget that when Black people aren’t involved. “Nigger” is being used as a way to socially exclude non-blacks and it’s being used to attack non-blacks (you know, because they’re not black). That’s logically racist. Meanwhile non-blacks are intimidated and confused; and by the looks of it a vocal number of blacks think that’s just great. To them it must seem like sweet sweet vengeance. But against who? Whites? That makes no sense - not only are all the offending whites (and Portuguese, Spanish, and Africa’s very own slavemasters) long dead, their descendants can’t be held responsible, and the rest of us (and our ancestors) had nothing to do with it either…sure, there are racists out there, but they’re racist because of their actions, not because they aren’t x ethnicity.
Anyway, I’m still pretty impressed at how you’ve convinced yourself into being so ignorant. Maybe if you learn to judge people by their character, they’ll start taking you seriously. That last guy sure didn’t.
January 21st, 2008 at 7:05 am
Cristo, don’t you dare tell me what to do. You are in no position to give me orders of any kind. I pity you and your kind, good day to you sir!
January 21st, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Huey McHater, lol. Huey is the voice of reason, the conscious character on this series. Too funny!
January 22nd, 2008 at 12:39 am
I cannot believe how accurate this parody is. Just watched the youtube version and I must say, I see where White People are coming from that they feel segregated in a way from the use of the word.
But, as a black man myself, I feel it’s best they just leave the word to the black community and not put their nose where it doesn’t belong.
January 22nd, 2008 at 2:40 am
this episode sucks, it wasnt funny enough for me
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:39 am
okay this episode was ok it really does put the “n-word.” conterversary out there though
but yeah for all y’all black people getting offended off white people saying the word “nigga.” or “nigger.” look the word up in the dictionary it doesn’t mean black it means “IGNORANT.” so that means anyone can be a NIGGER so why get offended? && as long as there is freedom of speech in this country you can’t make people stop saying NIGGA shoot..you just learn to live wit it or ignore it..shooot..
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 am
it makes me look like a fool? if it does then don’t reply to me. it must have invoked some sort of emotion out of you to respond. and anyway i think mcgruder doesn’t choose the topics of his episodes just to choose them. he wants to spark some sort of dialog. but reading most of the comments including yours “this is for Chief” you’re too young and ignorant to understand the messages he’s trying to get across. and “Guy” the civil rights movement wasn’t for us to be considered the same it was for us to be treated the same. there’s a big difference.
that’s why shows like the chappelle show go off the air because the material is wasted on irresponsible bigots who use it as license to propagate their ignorance and hatred. this show isn’t going to last that long especially with people who don’t understand any of the topics or satire. and especially if you’re not from the black community.
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:53 am
Darpa! you just want to say the word. go ahead and say it. why are you arguing against anything i said? i said no one should use it. i questioned “why do white people want to use it so badly?” did you answer me you being white? no! and nigger is still used to demean. are you insane or just ignorant? did you see kramer?
the only community that tried to change the use of the word is the black community. go to any white supremacist or any white person in generally and see how hard it is for the them to say the word with a black person around. stop trying to defend your use. it’s wrong for both sides to use it.
and whites now don’t have anything to do with slavery but they benefit from slavery. the majority of wealth and status in this country is held by whites who gained that wealth and status through slave labor go up down the fortune 500 and all you see is slave trader money. this country gained it’s wealth because of free labor. families benefit from the tobacco, cotton, and other goods slaves had their hands in. do you know anything about capitalism? do you know anything about this nation? or do you believe everything the media tells you?
you’re probably one of those mutha fuckaz who believe george washington cut down the cherry tree and that jefferson really wanted to free his slaves. just another naive white person.
everytime a white gets in trouble for saying the word it’s because they meant it to demean. this teacher crap is ridiculous. all you who believe that an older white male who is supposed to be educated said the word “nigga” to riley or the true life case just because the kid said it is naive. why is a teacher, an educator taking grammar and language lessons from children? and if he was really a responsible adult he would advise them against the use of that world. and could do so without saying. give the kid a history lesson. you’re going to teach the kid a lesson by saying the word who’s use by a white person the kid has only seen negatively? come on now. just because someone may have a pretty good point doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think. but i can’t blame you, you weren’t taught how to think you were taught to regurgitate and mimic.
stop concerning yourself with our community and with what our people say and do. because when you catch us on the block or the record store or anywhere we surely aren’t concerned about what white people, other than the police and the government, are up to or saying.
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
HAHAHAHAHA, best line ever:
Did he just call me a thug ?!
He sure did!
…….yeah!
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:11 pm
This message is not meant to down anyone or to start controversy it’s actually to voice my opinion which everyone is entitled to no one race is superior to another it saddens me that there are people who try to prove that. They “think” key word think they are better in any aspect are clearly displaying their ignorance. There are a few people on this board stating their opinions which they are entitled to.
Think about this the “word” nigger is a Word it only has as much power as u give it but on the other hand yes it was meant to insult and put down a entire race of people. The “N” word is a two edged sword it cuts going into a black person and it cuts the white person it comes out of by leaving them open for reactions and rebuttals.
So with that let’s try this acknowledge that yes it is a negative word and remove it from everyone’s vocabulary. So called rappers are not the spokes persons for the black race (now don’t get me wrong there are several rap artists that have a positive message and can uplift all races) just like the Klan members are not the spokes persons for the white race ether. Both in my book are ignorant the Klan and ignorant rappers that misrepresent our race.
I am a bi racial individual I have seen persecution by whites and rejection by blacks so coming from the middle its best to ban the word from everyone’s lips, and if u feel the need to respond please do but lets show our inelegance and hold a debate the right way and leave the insults and down talk at the door and be civilized.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:15 pm
oh and for everyone else who is not in this “debate” the best part of the episode was >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Booty dance…….. Booty dance……… Booty dance…….. that had me crying lol
January 23rd, 2008 at 6:48 am
that white guy tryin to talk like riley just made me laugh
January 24th, 2008 at 5:23 am
Yikes. I certainly pissed you off. Its breakdown analysis time:
“you just want to say the word”
Nope. I actually haven’t ever wanted to, or even needed to. But I do think it’s childish to ban words. They’re just words. Nuclear weapons are higher on my priority list.
“why are you arguing against anything I said?”
I read what you wrote about white people and I felt pretty insulted. Some of what you said was simply racist, and other bits weren’t that savory either. Give it another look and I’ll try and help if there’s something unclear or strange.
“did you answer me you being white?”
This is the sort of thing that got my attention in the first place. Here you are, supposedly vying for equality, and you tell me I cheated you because I’m white, something that you did not actually know. I have a problem with hypocrisy. Not to mention that I did answer you.
“are you insane or just ignorant? did you see Kramer?”
Well, I did see Kramer; his incident was offensive not only because he face planted into social faux pas, but it just wasn’t funny. I don’t advocate that, I just think you’re attitude to nigger in the lexicon is very narrow-minded, and that sort of thinking I find alarming, if nothing more for that should it become popular my use of language I care about might be affected. As to my sanity and whether or not I’m ignorant, I could ask the same of you. You’re the one who contradicts himself with racist statments about non-blacks, white people in particular.
“stop trying to defend your use. it’s wrong for both sides to use it.”
I’m hard pressed to think of situations besides discussing the word explicitly that I would actually want to. What I do defend is a consideration of meaning. It’s the insult that is offensive. If people want to use it for something else, then I think that is alright. Words changing meaning is a natural process, although it takes a great deal of time to fully take place.
“and whites now don’t have anything to do with slavery but they benefit from slavery. (and so on)”
I understand it’s frustrating that evil people’s deeds are being rewarded, but you have to remember that we don’t all get a piece of that. I think you mean to be specific in your usage of “white people” means all white people in the USA. Please say so if you do, because the rest of us are no less white. Slave labor had a great deal to do with American wealth, but that’s a gross oversimplification of things; you also have to consider the geography, industrialization, and events like WWII. As an outsider, even I know that.
“you’re probably one of those…just another naive white person.”
By what criteria do you assign that? Are naive black people allowed to?
“but i can’t blame you, you weren’t taught how to think you were taught to regurgitate and mimic”
That is nonsense. On what basis does my reaction to your shameless accusations to non-blacks confine me to being some kind of sheep? The fact that we should all be offended? BAAAAH.
Stop concerning myself? I won’t. I care about people, and as long as I do it will matter to me if some multi-standard twit thinks all white people on Earth, or America even, are morally soiled for the actions they had no control over, and just because they aren’t black they aren’t qualified to talk about blacks. And what do you mean black people aren’t concerned about whites are up to or saying? You’re just going to shun us for being white? The more you talk the more you sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Not to mention a supremest. Yet you also seem to be against ignorance?
January 24th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I really hope Mr. McGruder mocks Sean Hannity. Hannity is the biggest PoS on Earth, maybe in the Galaxy.
January 25th, 2008 at 1:49 am
The word should not be used at all to be honest. How can people tell if a non black person says the word with a racial endearment backed behind the word or is just using the word as a joke in a conversation.
Hip Hop and Rap have a global following and not just by black people. If a non black individual was reciting lyrics from a rap song with the word would that be considered racist?
A lot of people are confused and it’s not suprising at all. To avoid confusion i believe that NO ONE AT ALL should use the word. The N word is generally linked with slavery so in my OPINION it would be disrespectful to use the word.
Ask yourselves this. Do we really need the word?
January 25th, 2008 at 3:55 am
Im from da black community and to be honest with you i cant stand making people get scared erytime dey say nigga, the more we hate on them the more they frea us and turn there back on us and will eventualy start a civil rights act…i feel shame for what we did to this country after mlk…i think the producer made these episodes to laugh att all dem ignorent folks…if you poay attention to the theme song yall get it
January 25th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
How is a nigga gonna borrow a french fry…nigga is you gonna give it back???LOL!!!
January 26th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
To all of those that don’t understand what Chief is saying then you are a NIGGER. Do you understand that, NIGGA?! Just remove the word from your vocabulary. If you want respect you must demand it.
I love Aaron McGruders’ work because it provokes deep thought. Yeah it’s funny but there is always a message to the madness.
January 26th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
The moral of the story is don’t use the word. If you don’t want to be called one then stop calling yourself one.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:29 am
My Name is Marie-Ann, and I am extremely upset with this material. Such use of words is offensive not only to me, but my loved ones as well. I will sue the company who made this filth! Such material simply cannot be allowed to be aired! Violence…on MY TV… I DONT THINK SO!!!
…nigger
January 27th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
get more episodes of boondocks
January 28th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
“Don’t use the word?” That’s for the black community — and the black community alone — to decide? In general I think it’s best not to be overly sensitive. Every time the word nigger or nigga is used, you gotta look at the context of it. I definitely agree with Chief, the argument that “if black people don’t wanna be called it they shouldn’t call each other by it” is just a worn out, illogical argument.
Just like Don Imus saying he “learned” the term “nappy headed hoes” from listening to rap music. It’s just an excuse for people who actually DO have malicious intent. I don’t mind when rappers say it, just like I don’t mind it when it’s said on the Boondocks. But because a large proportion of the listeners/viewers are young white suburbian males (the bulk of which are ignorant), they will start using these terms.
So we have to ask ourselves, if we wanna keep listening and watching dope shit — we’re gonna either have to educate these white youths who (in my opinion) misuse the word. Or we gotta just deal with it.
February 2nd, 2008 at 7:16 am
I am all for the use of the word “nigger.” You know why? Because niggers enjoy being called niggers. Niggers enjoy being called niggers because they know they are niggers. I don’t understand why black people get so upset when someone uses the word nigger towards them. What I really don’t understand is how anyone can press legal action against these people. If you walk out on the street and call some random guy a “dumbass” he’ll probably just laugh at you, knowing full well that you are full of yourself. But if you walk up to that guy and call him a “nigger,” he may very well throw a hissy fit. Why is this? I’ll tell you why. People enjoy throwing hissy fits. If someone calls you a dumbass, and you know that you are not, why take it to heart? In the same respect, if someone calls you a nigger, and you know you aren’t, why get so upset? It is because some (black) people are not sure that they aren’t niggers. If they were sure they weren’t sub-par humans, they would have nothing to be upset about. But they aren’t sure; doubt is still present, and when someone points it out, they are embarrassed and play the race card. Don’t get me wrong, this doubt is present in all people, regardless of race. However, there isn’t a convenient word for a sub-human white person, so it is harder to bring this doubt to the surface. The word “nigger” is just so convenient and well-recognized. So I say go outside and call a nigger a nigger, regardless of your race. You will learn a lot about that person, chiefly whether or not that person has very much self-esteem.

February 10th, 2008 at 8:25 am
If a white person wants to say nigga, or nigger, or whatever, they can. And no black person has the right to bully them into anything otherwise. Case closed. Get over it.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Re:???

February 12th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
the teacher is crazy as hell he is the whole reason i keep watchin this ep. and ann, dear Lord, crazy slut, funi as hell!!
February 15th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
People should be able to say what they want. If a person is called a nigger, nigga, then that person should insult them in the same fashion, no matter the person.
Not that I’ve been called nigger, nigga to my face other then my black people, I tell them, don’t call me that.. I’m no nigger, nigga.
I wouldn’t mad, just even.
There’s much more insults I can use for people.. Gotta be smart!!
February 16th, 2008 at 6:31 am
Anne:
” That bitch must have lost his mind. I will beat the black of that bitch! I will snatch the weave of that trick!!
February 19th, 2008 at 8:51 am
Look at you guys all arugue about this bullshit. Did you watch this episode? Its right on. You guys arguing over this is like Ann and Rollo. All i have to say is what Huey said. “The problem with restraining speech is who gets to set the rules, if its only ok in a certain time or place, who gets to say what time and what place?”
March 28th, 2008 at 1:20 am
This isn’t meant to be racist, in fact it can’t possibly be logically consrued as racist because it is a representation of historical fact - but could the black communities hang-ups on white people saying “nigger/nigga” stem from their incomplete sense of self-emancipation. Think about it… The germanic tribes of northern Europe were one enslaved by the Romans, but they fought for and won their freedom. Spain was one dominated by North African muslims, but they fought for and won their independence. Eastern Europe was once dominated by Soviet Russia but they fought for and won their freedom. The list could go on… The black community currently residing in the Western world ae descended from people who were enslaved by westerners but were GRANTED freedom by people like William Wilberforce and Abraham Lincoln. The fact that the race card is so often played by disenfranchised blacks suggests to me some kind of communal frustration at the residual (if implicit) dominance of the white community. So any attempt at making us look like the ‘bad guys’ is worth pursuing…
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:16 pm
omg funny as shit especially when hes talking about the french fries lmao so funny i love this show!
July 26th, 2008 at 9:00 am
if u don’t want ur kids watching this “flith” put a parental block on the channel.. i hate when people complain about what’s shown on t.v… hell everything now days is PG13 and up. It’s YOUR job as a GOOD parent to monitor what they view. Trust and believe if they don’t see it on t.v. they will see it on the net and if not that net then over a friends house. so basically u have to teach your child/ren right from wrong and pray that they here U and not what there friends tell them.
It’s a shame that i had to say that i’m only 19 and u should know better than me.
and as far as people generalizing whites and blacks please stop cause u can’t speak for a WHOLE race …. you only can speak for yourself.
my take on the N-word ending in “a” or “er” it all depends on how there person who it is said to takes it because you never know what experience one person has had with the word. One person can take it in the negative aspect because they were raise to think of the word as negative and hatful or in other aspects like mine where the word has been used so much through out the life of a person that it becomes fused into everyday dialog.
I try not to use the word around ppl i don’t know because like i said u never know how the person will take it.
September 12th, 2008 at 12:47 am
Lol watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XURRzofbMc0 This actually happened in real life
