Episode 1: …Or Die Trying
Granddad, Huey, Riley and Jazmine sneak into the movies to watch Soulplane 2: The Blackjacking! At the theatre, they do their best to avoid Ruckus, who is fervent about reporting them to the authorities.
Episode 2: Tom, Sarah and Usher
While on a date with Tom Dubois, Sarah Dubois meets the singing sensation, Usher. Sarah starts being obsessed with Usher, and Tome begins to think Sarah is cheating on him. Sarah kicks Tom out of the house and Tom moves in with the Freemans. A pimp Named Slick Back returns in this episode to try to help Tom get Sarah back.
Episode 3: Thank You for Not Snitching
Two men are invading homes, and Riley and Granddad are refusing to speak to the police. It gets worse when Granddad’s car, Dorothy, gets stolen by the robbers. If Riley and Granddad still refuse, worse things may be in store.
Episode 4: Stinkmeaner Strikes Back
Huey has a dream of Stinkmeaner and Grandad says that he was a menace and he sent him to hell like he deserves. Stinkmeaner’s spirit later inhabits Tom Dubois’ body and goes looking for revenge against Granddad. Huey must stop him from killing Granddad.
Episode 5: The Story of Thugnificent
The infamous rapper Thugnificent moves to the neighborhood of Woodcrest, with his friend Macktastic and Flonominal, eventually leading to Granddad becoming annoyed with his new neighbours. Their feud inspires Thugnificent to create one of the best diss-tracks of all time, called “Eff Granddad”.
Episode 6: Attack of the Killer Kung-Fu Wolf Bitch
After many failed attempts at online dating, Granddad finally meets a beautiful woman named Luna… who just happens to be a psycho.
Episode 7: Shinin’
Riley joins Thugnificent’s Lethal Injection crew. Meanwhile, a local bully steals Riley’s prized chain.
Episode 8: Ballin’
Riley learns a lesson in good sportsmanship after he joins a basketball team.
Episode 9: Invasion of Katrinians
When Granddad’s cousin Jericho and his family (displaced from Hurricane Katrina) move in to his house in Woodcrest, he does whatever he can to get rid of them as quickly as possible..
Episode 10: Home Alone
Granddad takes a vacation, leaving the boys alone, but just who is in charge?
Episode 11: The S-Word
Granddad and the good Rev. Rolo Goodlove try to cash in big after a teacher calls Riley “the-n-word” in school.
Episode 12: Story of Catcher Freeman
Huey and Riley listen to different perspectives on the story of their ancestor Catcher Freeman.
Episode 13: Story of Gangstalicious (Part 2)
Much to the chagrin of Granddad, Riley starts to walk, talk, and dress like his favorite rapper, Gangstalicious. Riley arranges for rappers Thugnificent, Flo-Nominal, and Macktastic to collaborate with Gangstalicious on a remix of his new hit song, “Homies over Hoes.” But when rumors surface about Gangstalicious being gay - following in the footsteps of gay rapper Booty B - Riley’s world is turned upside-down.

Thats not really true - it is the same voice actors - but i think they added a little something to the sound to make them seem a bit older(the characters look older, but i bet its not the case - i bet its the fact that the writing is different and there is a different voice direction in this new season, so that creates a new feel for the characters emotions.
Lets not jump to conclusions until we see a Riley heavy episode.
I think grandads voice is cooler now, especially in that line. “…and let you get molested by a nasty white man” haha + “why little baby” that shit killed me.

I liked the first season better because it had a message like the Comic Strips. This season just laughs at Black Folks.
In the First season Uncle Ruckus was a sad character.
In this season he’s given more power.
In this season Riley is the focus, when the focus should be on Huey and his Black Power personality.
This show is getting away from the point. My opinion.

By the way, anyone who thinks this show is racist is missing the point. The show does crack jokes on black people, but not exclusively them. The first episode makes fun of snooty white people. Ed Wunsler Sr. is a joke against corporate executives. Ed Wunsler III and his buddy are making fun of George W and Donald Rumsfeld (no, I don’t care if I spelled the names wrong). Moreover, most of the jokes are true. Whowantssome has done exactly what he set out to do - he initiated a nigga moment, and y’all responded. Okay - back to what IS important - the Freemans! Damn fine show. First hopeful - that Mr. Stinkmeaner finds his way back in season 3 and that we get to see another ep. of good ‘ol uncle ruckus (no relation) takin’ on the young Huey Freeman. We need more of the secret service agent/FBI conspiracy. [An observation- I don't see Reese Witherspoon's name, just John Witherspoon now; am I just missing that? Curiosity, I suppose].
I think this show has captured the very essence of what made show like married with children and the simpsons popular - stating the obvious, dark truths of our world. Too often, television does NOT reflect reality, or when it does, does not dare to cross the lines of the family home. Shows that can focus on the truth, mixing in humor to do so (where sometimes the truth is just funny as is - such as a nigga moment), have a bright future.
One of the finer elements of Boondocks is that it also includes remembers to occassionally include the same level of depth and quality that gave Futurama such a tremendous following (such as the ep.’s with Frye’s dog, or Bender and God). Riley and Huey are perfect brothers. Being a sibling myself - I can attest to every element of reality between those two. Also, even though they are young, the creators are not afraid of crossing the same type of boundaries that Southpark crosses - proving that kids at that age (while innocence is still a factor), are not as ‘pure,’ as the brain-dead, horse-blinder, puratanist wannabe’s of this country make them out to be!
I worry about Grandad on that computer though - he’s probably gettin’ himself some spyware or something! With it being an election year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mr. Wuncler out doing some campaigning, or Huey having another, excellent dream.
If I had one observation to make about this show as far as what it really says to me - is that it is one of those shows that deals with the real issues of black and white - THERE ARE no issues! I get so damn tired of hearing white, wealthy, radio talk show hosts go on and on about how the Democrats are playing baby-kisser (political term y’all) with the black folks, and how Bush has appointed more black folks than anyone else and on and on, and it’s like, damn nigger - shut the hell up. Quit hatin! If someone’s qualified - it don’t matter WHAT the hell their skin color is! If someone’s unqualified - it STILL don’t matter what the hell their skin color is. We are all different - and just like married with children parodied that greatest of all stupidity, and oddly, sincerity that could be found in white folk - boondocks parodies all the stupidity, and sincerity to be found amongst all y’all black folk (and STILL gets to poke fun at all us stupid white boys!!!! - yeah!!).
(I wonder when the episode’s going to come out about being ‘African-American,’ and ‘ol Grandad, who fought in the war’s gonna get ticked off at Huey for not appreciating he is born in America and Riley’s just gonna keep callin’ everyone a nigga!)

But Still, Huey has become just an extra in the show. When in reality he is the sense of reason. IMO hee’s the most important character, and should have alot more shine, as in Season 1.

Over the past couple of weeks there has been rumors hovering about a certain Boondocks episode waiting to be aired. A clip leaked to youtube that previewed the episode which takes a critical and humorous look at BET and its programming. The snippet heightened curiosity of when the episode would eventually air. After the rumored original air date (January 7th) had passed, there would be even more speculation as to what happened to the episode. The clips on youtube were also taken down with no explanation.
Message boards ran wild with talk that BET put a halt to the episode ever airing but there was absolutely no confirmation from either sources at BET or Boondocks. It’s no secret that the Boondocks has attracted controversy (ie: last year’s controversial “Return of the King” episode) but to hear that an episode may possibly never air has raised more than a few eyebrows.
Today, an anonymous source close to the situation issued a statement exclusively to HipHopDX.com explaining that not one, but two episodes have been banned from airing. Here’s his statement as to what has transpired in recent weeks…
“It now appears official that TWO episodes of The Boondocks second season — clips of which surfaced on and then were pulled from Youtube — will not air. At all. Ever.
Fans who were waiting for the show to reach the levels of controversy that last year’s Peabody Award-winning “The Return of Martin Luther King” episode achieved will have to cross their fingers and hope that Sony execs don’t also pull the episodes from the second season DVD, which is slated for late spring.
The two episodes were originally scheduled to air on November 16 and December 17, respectively. No official reasons were given for the banning of the episodes from either Sony or Adult Swim as of yet.
Rumor has it the higher ups at BET have been pressuring Sony behind the scenes for months to yank the episodes, including threatening legal action. Now I’m pretty biased as a BET hater, but it’s sad the people in charge over there are more worried about being teased by a cartoon than producing good television. Not surprising, but still sad.
I’m a fan of the show and I’ve seen the episodes and they are undoubtedly the most cutting, brilliant and funny episodes of the season. In the first one: “The Hunger Strike” – Huey teams up with an Al Sharpton-like character (played by Cee-Lo Green from Gnarls Barkley) and goes on a hunger strike to protest BET. In what has since become a bizarre example of life imitating art, BET execs ‘Deborah Leevil’ and ‘Weggie Rudlin’ (imagine Black female Dr. Evil and Reginald Hudlin as Number 2) go through extraordinary lengths to thwart young Huey’s crusade. In the second one, titled “The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show”, BET gives Uncle Ruckus his own show, and what follows is one of the most fucked up and hilarious things I’ve seen on TV in years.
Is this controversy good for the Boondocks? Probably. For McGruder, controversy has never been a bad thing. But it’s doubtful any of this can be good for BET, which seems to be under perpetual fire from community activists and critics alike for its garbage programming. Now with this and BET founder Bob Johnson’s cheap shots at Obama, Huey Freeman may not be the only one hungering for a BET boycott.”
Calls and emails to Aaron McGruder’s office have yet to be returned. An exclusive clip has also been leaked to HipHopDX.

Ok people, I’ve tried to ignore the completely heinous remarks that have been recently posted, but I cannot do so any longer. I’m tired of reading stupid shit like “BOYCOT BET FOR REAL.” BET is not going to be boycotted, so please shut the hell up. This network won’t be shut down anytime soon because, unlike fellow music channels on basic cable, it actually plays popular music. MTV and VH1 play no music, their shows are far shittier than BET’s, and they haven’t been boycotted yet. Furthermore, some cartoon making fun of black people isn’t going to cause a channel that takes pride in its black culture to cancel. If anything, BET favor will soar, because they will preach something to the effect of “we all need to come together.”
And I have to address this post by hautesauce79: “BET,makes[sic] me sick I wish our people would boycott it.” This way of thinking is clearly racist. “Our people”? As if only black people watch BET. I’m tired of racist bullshit like this polluting my environment. Hey internet losers, jump on this bigot for being racist! God forbid someone like him is the center of yet another race-driven crisis.

-You are completely missing the point. You’re right, if BET were to be boycotted by all black people, they would shut down. However, my point was that BET won’t be boycotted by black people, because it is the only station that plays popular hip-hop/rap music. MTV and VH1 hardly ever play music, so as long as BET plays at least some, they will not be boycotted. And by the way idiot, they will care if white people boycott their station. The only reason for television stations to exist is to generate ratings, and alienating the majority of the population will cause a sharp decline in ratings.

-I am being real. Using reason and logic is what I consider to be real. If anyone is ignorant, it is you. For some reason, you believe that BET gives a shit about what you think. They don’t. One less person watching their station doesn’t mean anything to them. Plus, they probably figure that if you ever want to watch music videos again, they will be the only place to turn. -Refer to my comment above. To reiterate: BET doesn’t give a shit about you. Huey Freeman can’t think I’m dumb, because Huey is a cartoon character, thus is a figment of someone’s imagination and cannot have his own thoughts. And since the writer of this cartoon has never met me, he cannot possibly have an opinion about me. In the same respect, I can’t preach with Uncle Ruckus because he is a cartoon character.

whowantssome?, stop complaining and being an idiot at the same time… who watches MTV or VH1 or BET anyway? don’t u guys have real cable? watch MTV Hits, VH1 Soul, MTV Jams, MTV Classic and all those channels on COMCAST if you want to see music videos 24/7 fool… don’t tell me people still have basic cable… it’s 2008 ladies & gentlemen… Fact is, BET hasn’t been good in like 5-6 years… the only thing ever worth watching on there was maybe COMICVIEW when they had good hosts, its been horrible the past few years… and the boondocks are awesome i’m sure those BET episodes were hilarious… i love when they have sway from MTV too

All BET plays is stupid snap shit anyways. They tryin to keep that shit stupid. They even refused to play Little Brother’s “Lovin It” video because “It was too smart for BET’s audience”. Hey Reply, I have three words for you: learn to read. You didn’t seem to understand a word of what I was saying. I’m not complaining about anything…and I am certainly not defending BET. I don’t endorse anything that is created to market bullshit I don’t need or waste my time. I’ll make my point one last time (this is the third time, so pay attention you retards).
BET will not be boycotted anytime soon, because of the three major music stations on basic cable (MTV, VH1, and BET), BET plays by far the most music. People tune in to these music channels to watch music videos. If you want to watch music videos on VH1 or MTV, you either have to wake up at 4 a.m. or tune in to the thirty minutes in the afternoon that they play clips of music videos. Even though BET runs its share of shitty, non-music related programming, they do in fact play quite a bit more music than either VH1 or MTV, or both of them combined. So as you can see, to someone who simply wants to watch music videos, BET is the place to turn. It will not be boycotted, no matter how much you imbeciles chant “BOYCOTT BET!” because they won’t let you watch your cartoons. I guarantee you that more people watch music videos than cartoons.
Oh, and by the way, people do still have basic cable you elitist prick. Not everyone has mommy and daddy to pay their bills. I’m just going to clue you in kid: the highest-earning college graduates make about $54,000 coming out of school, the lowest earning make about $30,000. These numbers might seem big to a remedial dumbass like yourself, but they really aren’t. Granted, not everyone goes to college, plenty of people drop out, and those that do make it through tend to have enormous debts to pay off. So guess what asshole? Plenty of people have basic cable, because they don’t have the time or money to waste on vegetating in front of “VH1 Soul.” People work. Hey, you lucked out, because your parents can pay for your ignorant, ungrateful ass to sit in front of TV all day. While the rest of us contribute to society, why don’t you just shut the hell up and enjoy 900 channels of time-wasting.

No whowantssome - you don’t win, and now I will explain why. My commentary was intended to elicit the responses you gave. First off, I do not watch BET; mainly because I enjoy old school RAP more and tend to no longer find it being aired. I’ve never fancied the new era of hip-hop and variations of rap. That is not to insult it as a musical style since there is much of it that is well done, of course; just my personal interests.
You have missed the point for the following reasons: your screen name is intended to encourage argument, not debate, nor logic (whereas others, such as myself, use a screenname with much deeper meaning stretching back to 20 years ago when the ‘internet,’ as we know it today was being born).
I will not debate with you on a topic by topic level. My intentions were simple: to provide you with a cartoon-level argument in an attempt to keep the humor light. Boondocks is a cartoon, yes, but a very powerful and moving cartoon that should not be taken lightly.
It’s meanings are so often, overlooked by those who walk through life with horseblinders on. Several college thesis papers for legal graduates were done in the latter part of last year regarding the Trial of R. Kelley, while there are a significant portion of individuals on television and in media still debating The Return of the King, and what it should mean to the black populous.
You are not logical. The website you posted is not logic. To be logical, you must include some scientific rationale with your arguments. Your arguments are shallow and misdirected. You think you’re intelligent; but thinking you’re intelligent and being intelligent are two different things.
Those of us who do work for a living - and work hard - unlike you, do not berate or degrade others; especially if they really WERE young children who were privileged enough to watch television because of their parents.
That means their parents work hard. Do we expect children to work as hard as we do? Of course not. The reason I present this argument: to point out the massive flaws in your logic and show that you are a younger, upset gentleman who feels that society has burdened him. Bad news for you: grow up. When I refer to Huey Freeman, I of course refer to Mr. McGruder. Your failure to recognize that emphasizes your lack of logic. Logical people are open-minded and accept all points of view as a totality in contributing to a greater purpose (aka, scientific methodology).
For the benefit of the others you have so freely attacked, let me point out to those who read this blog: whowants some claims to be an educated, literate, logical adult who shuns those who would use the pretense of the philosophies being debated in a cartoon as a reason for expressing your feelings of personal rights, such as freedom of expression. Might i point out, that this ‘logical,’ adult is 1. Sitting at home typing on a blog (so he’s not a die-hard-in-the-wool, hard-working, authoritative person); 2. expressing his feelings about what he feels to be the limitations on freedom of expression (specifically pointing out that he does not have the most basic comprehension of what it means to feel oppressed, denied or mistreated); and 3. He’s trying to get everyone to be logical by saying it’s only a cartoon (when the fallacy is that it IS a cartoon, and he is a grown-up, mature, responsible adult enjoying… um… cartoons?)
Before you call anyone elitist, try to first state your position as either the pot, or the kettle. It is not easy being white any more than it is being black. Dr. King did not fight for the rights of one group over another, he fought for equality. Dr. King died trying to encourage his fellow, black, brethren to gather in peaceful protests such as boycotts. He did not boycott where his voice would not be heard: and in a segregationist argument, and world that still suffers from segregation (which is appauling and disgusting), we must support the struggle of power where it applies the most. Dr. King is called a visionary not because he saw how great his future would be, but because he knew he was only a step in the struggle to climb to new heights. His struggles were for African-Americans to be: Americans; with all the same dignities, privileges and rights as any other American. And, God Bless him for knowing that he would die and never see the fruits of his labors, but fighting on, nonetheless. If we stifle the creative element of human nature, and accept totalitarian authority, then by your arguments sir, you shun the entire foundation of this country. Perhaps your time and logic would be better spent not hating others, and looking up the political philosophies of leaders such as Thomas Jefferson, who adamantly protested giving into an authoritative power that would encourage oppression (aka., in modern times, corporate America, or BET).
I might also point out that the debate over BET, versus VH1 and MTV is strategic training by the media to emphasize such influence in our lives that we will become thoroughly integrated into television. For your information, I have cable solely for my son. I watch his cartoons with him (as a responsible parent should take the time to both provide counsel for their children and what they watch and not allow the television to be a babysitter). Otherwise, I watch whatever is on the Internet from time to time (such as the Boondocks), NEWS or oth
