Episode 1: …Or Die Trying
Granddad, Huey, Riley and Jazmine sneak into the movies to watch Soulplane 2: The Blackjacking! At the theatre, they do their best to avoid Ruckus, who is fervent about reporting them to the authorities.
Episode 2: Tom, Sarah and Usher
While on a date with Tom Dubois, Sarah Dubois meets the singing sensation, Usher. Sarah starts being obsessed with Usher, and Tome begins to think Sarah is cheating on him. Sarah kicks Tom out of the house and Tom moves in with the Freemans. A pimp Named Slick Back returns in this episode to try to help Tom get Sarah back.
Episode 3: Thank You for Not Snitching
Two men are invading homes, and Riley and Granddad are refusing to speak to the police. It gets worse when Granddad’s car, Dorothy, gets stolen by the robbers. If Riley and Granddad still refuse, worse things may be in store.
Episode 4: Stinkmeaner Strikes Back
Huey has a dream of Stinkmeaner and Grandad says that he was a menace and he sent him to hell like he deserves. Stinkmeaner’s spirit later inhabits Tom Dubois’ body and goes looking for revenge against Granddad. Huey must stop him from killing Granddad.
Episode 5: The Story of Thugnificent
The infamous rapper Thugnificent moves to the neighborhood of Woodcrest, with his friend Macktastic and Flonominal, eventually leading to Granddad becoming annoyed with his new neighbours. Their feud inspires Thugnificent to create one of the best diss-tracks of all time, called “Eff Granddad”.
Episode 6: Attack of the Killer Kung-Fu Wolf Bitch
After many failed attempts at online dating, Granddad finally meets a beautiful woman named Luna… who just happens to be a psycho.
Episode 7: Shinin’
Riley joins Thugnificent’s Lethal Injection crew. Meanwhile, a local bully steals Riley’s prized chain.
Episode 8: Ballin’
Riley learns a lesson in good sportsmanship after he joins a basketball team.
Episode 9: Invasion of Katrinians
When Granddad’s cousin Jericho and his family (displaced from Hurricane Katrina) move in to his house in Woodcrest, he does whatever he can to get rid of them as quickly as possible..
Episode 10: Home Alone
Granddad takes a vacation, leaving the boys alone, but just who is in charge?
Episode 11: The S-Word
Granddad and the good Rev. Rolo Goodlove try to cash in big after a teacher calls Riley “the-n-word” in school.
Episode 12: Story of Catcher Freeman
Huey and Riley listen to different perspectives on the story of their ancestor Catcher Freeman.
Episode 13: Story of Gangstalicious (Part 2)
Much to the chagrin of Granddad, Riley starts to walk, talk, and dress like his favorite rapper, Gangstalicious. Riley arranges for rappers Thugnificent, Flo-Nominal, and Macktastic to collaborate with Gangstalicious on a remix of his new hit song, “Homies over Hoes.” But when rumors surface about Gangstalicious being gay - following in the footsteps of gay rapper Booty B - Riley’s world is turned upside-down.
Episode 14: The Hunger Strike
When Huey takes action against BET and gets some help from a well known face, he learns that you can’t always trust a crusader.
Episode 15: The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show
Uncle Ruckus is given his own reality show by BET.

Thats not really true - it is the same voice actors - but i think they added a little something to the sound to make them seem a bit older(the characters look older, but i bet its not the case - i bet its the fact that the writing is different and there is a different voice direction in this new season, so that creates a new feel for the characters emotions.
Lets not jump to conclusions until we see a Riley heavy episode.
I think grandads voice is cooler now, especially in that line. “…and let you get molested by a nasty white man” haha + “why little baby” that shit killed me.

I liked the first season better because it had a message like the Comic Strips. This season just laughs at Black Folks.
In the First season Uncle Ruckus was a sad character.
In this season he’s given more power.
In this season Riley is the focus, when the focus should be on Huey and his Black Power personality.
This show is getting away from the point. My opinion.

By the way, anyone who thinks this show is racist is missing the point. The show does crack jokes on black people, but not exclusively them. The first episode makes fun of snooty white people. Ed Wunsler Sr. is a joke against corporate executives. Ed Wunsler III and his buddy are making fun of George W and Donald Rumsfeld (no, I don’t care if I spelled the names wrong). Moreover, most of the jokes are true. Whowantssome has done exactly what he set out to do - he initiated a nigga moment, and y’all responded. Okay - back to what IS important - the Freemans! Damn fine show. First hopeful - that Mr. Stinkmeaner finds his way back in season 3 and that we get to see another ep. of good ‘ol uncle ruckus (no relation) takin’ on the young Huey Freeman. We need more of the secret service agent/FBI conspiracy. [An observation- I don't see Reese Witherspoon's name, just John Witherspoon now; am I just missing that? Curiosity, I suppose].
I think this show has captured the very essence of what made show like married with children and the simpsons popular - stating the obvious, dark truths of our world. Too often, television does NOT reflect reality, or when it does, does not dare to cross the lines of the family home. Shows that can focus on the truth, mixing in humor to do so (where sometimes the truth is just funny as is - such as a nigga moment), have a bright future.
One of the finer elements of Boondocks is that it also includes remembers to occassionally include the same level of depth and quality that gave Futurama such a tremendous following (such as the ep.’s with Frye’s dog, or Bender and God). Riley and Huey are perfect brothers. Being a sibling myself - I can attest to every element of reality between those two. Also, even though they are young, the creators are not afraid of crossing the same type of boundaries that Southpark crosses - proving that kids at that age (while innocence is still a factor), are not as ‘pure,’ as the brain-dead, horse-blinder, puratanist wannabe’s of this country make them out to be!
I worry about Grandad on that computer though - he’s probably gettin’ himself some spyware or something! With it being an election year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mr. Wuncler out doing some campaigning, or Huey having another, excellent dream.
If I had one observation to make about this show as far as what it really says to me - is that it is one of those shows that deals with the real issues of black and white - THERE ARE no issues! I get so damn tired of hearing white, wealthy, radio talk show hosts go on and on about how the Democrats are playing baby-kisser (political term y’all) with the black folks, and how Bush has appointed more black folks than anyone else and on and on, and it’s like, damn nigger - shut the hell up. Quit hatin! If someone’s qualified - it don’t matter WHAT the hell their skin color is! If someone’s unqualified - it STILL don’t matter what the hell their skin color is. We are all different - and just like married with children parodied that greatest of all stupidity, and oddly, sincerity that could be found in white folk - boondocks parodies all the stupidity, and sincerity to be found amongst all y’all black folk (and STILL gets to poke fun at all us stupid white boys!!!! - yeah!!).
(I wonder when the episode’s going to come out about being ‘African-American,’ and ‘ol Grandad, who fought in the war’s gonna get ticked off at Huey for not appreciating he is born in America and Riley’s just gonna keep callin’ everyone a nigga!)

But Still, Huey has become just an extra in the show. When in reality he is the sense of reason. IMO hee’s the most important character, and should have alot more shine, as in Season 1.

Over the past couple of weeks there has been rumors hovering about a certain Boondocks episode waiting to be aired. A clip leaked to youtube that previewed the episode which takes a critical and humorous look at BET and its programming. The snippet heightened curiosity of when the episode would eventually air. After the rumored original air date (January 7th) had passed, there would be even more speculation as to what happened to the episode. The clips on youtube were also taken down with no explanation.
Message boards ran wild with talk that BET put a halt to the episode ever airing but there was absolutely no confirmation from either sources at BET or Boondocks. It’s no secret that the Boondocks has attracted controversy (ie: last year’s controversial “Return of the King” episode) but to hear that an episode may possibly never air has raised more than a few eyebrows.
Today, an anonymous source close to the situation issued a statement exclusively to HipHopDX.com explaining that not one, but two episodes have been banned from airing. Here’s his statement as to what has transpired in recent weeks…
“It now appears official that TWO episodes of The Boondocks second season — clips of which surfaced on and then were pulled from Youtube — will not air. At all. Ever.
Fans who were waiting for the show to reach the levels of controversy that last year’s Peabody Award-winning “The Return of Martin Luther King” episode achieved will have to cross their fingers and hope that Sony execs don’t also pull the episodes from the second season DVD, which is slated for late spring.
The two episodes were originally scheduled to air on November 16 and December 17, respectively. No official reasons were given for the banning of the episodes from either Sony or Adult Swim as of yet.
Rumor has it the higher ups at BET have been pressuring Sony behind the scenes for months to yank the episodes, including threatening legal action. Now I’m pretty biased as a BET hater, but it’s sad the people in charge over there are more worried about being teased by a cartoon than producing good television. Not surprising, but still sad.
I’m a fan of the show and I’ve seen the episodes and they are undoubtedly the most cutting, brilliant and funny episodes of the season. In the first one: “The Hunger Strike” – Huey teams up with an Al Sharpton-like character (played by Cee-Lo Green from Gnarls Barkley) and goes on a hunger strike to protest BET. In what has since become a bizarre example of life imitating art, BET execs ‘Deborah Leevil’ and ‘Weggie Rudlin’ (imagine Black female Dr. Evil and Reginald Hudlin as Number 2) go through extraordinary lengths to thwart young Huey’s crusade. In the second one, titled “The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show”, BET gives Uncle Ruckus his own show, and what follows is one of the most fucked up and hilarious things I’ve seen on TV in years.
Is this controversy good for the Boondocks? Probably. For McGruder, controversy has never been a bad thing. But it’s doubtful any of this can be good for BET, which seems to be under perpetual fire from community activists and critics alike for its garbage programming. Now with this and BET founder Bob Johnson’s cheap shots at Obama, Huey Freeman may not be the only one hungering for a BET boycott.”
Calls and emails to Aaron McGruder’s office have yet to be returned. An exclusive clip has also been leaked to HipHopDX.

Ok people, I’ve tried to ignore the completely heinous remarks that have been recently posted, but I cannot do so any longer. I’m tired of reading stupid shit like “BOYCOT BET FOR REAL.” BET is not going to be boycotted, so please shut the hell up. This network won’t be shut down anytime soon because, unlike fellow music channels on basic cable, it actually plays popular music. MTV and VH1 play no music, their shows are far shittier than BET’s, and they haven’t been boycotted yet. Furthermore, some cartoon making fun of black people isn’t going to cause a channel that takes pride in its black culture to cancel. If anything, BET favor will soar, because they will preach something to the effect of “we all need to come together.”
And I have to address this post by hautesauce79: “BET,makes[sic] me sick I wish our people would boycott it.” This way of thinking is clearly racist. “Our people”? As if only black people watch BET. I’m tired of racist bullshit like this polluting my environment. Hey internet losers, jump on this bigot for being racist! God forbid someone like him is the center of yet another race-driven crisis.

MTV and VH1 hardly ever play music, so as long as BET plays at least some, they will not be boycotted. And by the way idiot, they will care if white people boycott their station. The only reason for television stations to exist is to generate ratings, and alienating the majority of the population will cause a sharp decline in ratings.

Hey Reply, I have three words for you: learn to read. You didn’t seem to understand a word of what I was saying. I’m not complaining about anything…and I am certainly not defending BET. I don’t endorse anything that is created to market bullshit I don’t need or waste my time. I’ll make my point one last time (this is the third time, so pay attention you retards).
BET will not be boycotted anytime soon, because of the three major music stations on basic cable (MTV, VH1, and BET), BET plays by far the most music. People tune in to these music channels to watch music videos. If you want to watch music videos on VH1 or MTV, you either have to wake up at 4 a.m. or tune in to the thirty minutes in the afternoon that they play clips of music videos. Even though BET runs its share of shitty, non-music related programming, they do in fact play quite a bit more music than either VH1 or MTV, or both of them combined. So as you can see, to someone who simply wants to watch music videos, BET is the place to turn. It will not be boycotted, no matter how much you imbeciles chant “BOYCOTT BET!” because they won’t let you watch your cartoons. I guarantee you that more people watch music videos than cartoons.
Oh, and by the way, people do still have basic cable you elitist prick. Not everyone has mommy and daddy to pay their bills. I’m just going to clue you in kid: the highest-earning college graduates make about $54,000 coming out of school, the lowest earning make about $30,000. These numbers might seem big to a remedial dumbass like yourself, but they really aren’t. Granted, not everyone goes to college, plenty of people drop out, and those that do make it through tend to have enormous debts to pay off. So guess what asshole? Plenty of people have basic cable, because they don’t have the time or money to waste on vegetating in front of “VH1 Soul.” People work. Hey, you lucked out, because your parents can pay for your ignorant, ungrateful ass to sit in front of TV all day. No whowantssome - you don’t win, and now I will explain why. My commentary was intended to elicit the responses you gave. First off, I do not watch BET; mainly because I enjoy old school RAP more and tend to no longer find it being aired. I’ve never fancied the new era of hip-hop and variations of rap. That is not to insult it as a musical style since there is much of it that is well done, of course; just my personal interests.
You have missed the point for the following reasons: your screen name is intended to encourage argument, not debate, nor logic (whereas others, such as myself, use a screenname with much deeper meaning stretching back to 20 years ago when the ‘internet,’ as we know it today was being born).
I will not debate with you on a topic by topic level. My intentions were simple: to provide you with a cartoon-level argument in an attempt to keep the humor light. Boondocks is a cartoon, yes, but a very powerful and moving cartoon that should not be taken lightly.
It’s meanings are so often, overlooked by those who walk through life with horseblinders on. Several college thesis papers for legal graduates were done in the latter part of last year regarding the Trial of R. Kelley, while there are a significant portion of individuals on television and in media still debating The Return of the King, and what it should mean to the black populous.
You are not logical. The website you posted is not logic. To be logical, you must include some scientific rationale with your arguments. Your arguments are shallow and misdirected. You think you’re intelligent; but thinking you’re intelligent and being intelligent are two different things.
Those of us who do work for a living - and work hard - unlike you, do not berate or degrade others; especially if they really WERE young children who were privileged enough to watch television because of their parents.
That means their parents work hard. Do we expect children to work as hard as we do? Of course not. The reason I present this argument: to point out the massive flaws in your logic and show that you are a younger, upset gentleman who feels that society has burdened him. Bad news for you: grow up. When I refer to Huey Freeman, I of course refer to Mr. McGruder. Your failure to recognize that emphasizes your lack of logic. Logical people are open-minded and accept all points of view as a totality in contributing to a greater purpose (aka, scientific methodology).
For the benefit of the others you have so freely attacked, let me point out to those who read this blog: whowants some claims to be an educated, literate, logical adult who shuns those who would use the pretense of the philosophies being debated in a cartoon as a reason for expressing your feelings of personal rights, such as freedom of expression. Might i point out, that this ‘logical,’ adult is 1. Sitting at home typing on a blog (so he’s not a die-hard-in-the-wool, hard-working, authoritative person); 2. expressing his feelings about what he feels to be the limitations on freedom of expression (specifically pointing out that he does not have the most basic comprehension of what it means to feel oppressed, denied or mistreated); and 3. He’s trying to get everyone to be logical by saying it’s only a cartoon (when the fallacy is that it IS a cartoon, and he is a grown-up, mature, responsible adult enjoying… um… cartoons?)
Before you call anyone elitist, try to first state your position as either the pot, or the kettle. It is not easy being white any more than it is being black. Dr. King did not fight for the rights of one group over another, he fought for equality. Dr. King died trying to encourage his fellow, black, brethren to gather in peaceful protests such as boycotts. He did not boycott where his voice would not be heard: and in a segregationist argument, and world that still suffers from segregation (which is appauling and disgusting), we must support the struggle of power where it applies the most. Dr. King is called a visionary not because he saw how great his future would be, but because he knew he was only a step in the struggle to climb to new heights. His struggles were for African-Americans to be: Americans; with all the same dignities, privileges and rights as any other American. And, God Bless him for knowing that he would die and never see the fruits of his labors, but fighting on, nonetheless. If we stifle the creative element of human nature, and accept totalitarian authority, then by your arguments sir, you shun the entire foundation of this country. Perhaps your time and logic would be better spent not hating others, and looking up the political philosophies of leaders such as Thomas Jefferson, who adamantly protested giving into an authoritative power that would encourage oppression (aka., in modern times, corporate America, or BET).
I might also point out that the debate over BET, versus VH1 and MTV is strategic training by the media to emphasize such influence in our lives that we will become thoroughly integrated into television. For your information, I have cable solely for my son. I watch his cartoons with him (as a responsible parent should take the time to both provide counsel for their children and what they watch and not allow the television to be a babysitter). Otherwise, I watch whatever is on the Internet from time to time (such as the Boondocks), NEWS or other such materials. If you enjoy music videos, than watch them - whichever ones you like. Wasn’t the point of freedom, America and the whole purpose of designing a Democracy to provide those freedoms to enforce logic, encourage curiosity and help expand people’s horizons? In short, whowantssome, (using my prior attempt to keep it short, mistakingly believing that you WERE intelligent enough to read between the lines), you ARE an IDIOT for fighting logic with ignorance, demanding others give into logic by wanting to suppress liberty, you fully emphasize the stereotypes that Mr. McGruder includes in his show on purpose (which at least, honors him in some, small, twisted way) and; in the words of RILEY FREEMAN:

Ok cybereaper, I just read your lengthy response, and now I am 100% certain that you lack both basic comprehension skills and any kind of common sense. I’ll attempt to attack your argument (if you can even call it that, you will understand later) point by point, but forgive me if I do not include direct quotations, as your post is indeed quite lengthy.
Before I begin, let me recap how this whole thing started. You put up a post that insisted everyone with BET protest the network. I came along and said something to the effect of “BET won’t be boycotted because they play more music than the other two channels.” You then responded with a post that included a barrage of unfounded insults, with this gem as your central argument: “who the hell cares if the white man boycotts BET - that’s not their main audience.” This has nothing to do with what I originally said, so this is why I consider you to be a moron. I came back and dissected your post, basically reiterating my original claim: BET won’t be cancelled because they play more music than everyone else. I also added that BET doesn’t particularly care about your personal opinion, simply because you are one person that is opposed to an entire genre of popular culture. Furthermore, you say you have a son that watches TV, so you are old enough that BET is not even marketing to your demographic, which means they really don’t care about your opinion at all.
After this, somebody named “Reply” responded to my argument that was directed at you. He called me an idiot for this reason: “who watches MTV or VH1 or BET anyway?…fool, don’t tell me people still have basic cable?”. I then proceeded to point out that people do in fact have basic cable, and because of his ignorance to this seemingly basic conclusion (after all, why would basic cable be offered if nobody had it?), I asserted that he was the idiot instead of me. Is this a fair assertion? I think so. After all, if you are going around calling strangers on the internet “idiots,” you should at least have a good reason for doing so. This kid’s reasoning was completely flawed, making him an idiot. Alright, now let’s focus our attention on your most recent response. See my post below.

Alright cybereaper, you start off by saying that you don’t watch BET. Ok, that’s fine. Remember, my original argument was that BET won’t be boycotted ever, so there is no reason to be screaming “BOYCOTT BET” in a forum. Alright, next you say that I missed your point because my screenname advocates illogical argument rather than a meaningful debate. Look at this last sentence again; it doesn’t make any sense. I missed your point because of my screenname? And because your screenname apparently has meaning? Ok, I don’t think I need to address this any further. Let’s move on.
You then say you will not debate with me on a topic-by-topic level. You then say that this cartoon has lots of underlying meaning. Ok, I see what you’re saying, but this has nothing to do with the original argument (see the first paragraph for original argument).
You then go on to say my argument is not logical because I do not include scientific evidence. First of all, nowhere in any of your posts do I find a shred of scientific evidence, so by your definition, you are not logical either. Secondly, logic is not necessarily scientific in nature. Logic means using reasoning. In other words, when you say something, you back it up with something else that you know is true. When I said that BET won’t be boycotted, I backed it up with reasons such as BET plays more music (fact), lots of people have basic cable (fact), and BET couldn’t care less about the opinion of someone who doesn’t watch their station anyways (fact). Is that not logic? Let me point out that so far in your response, you have not made your argument clear. You’re saying that I am illogical, yet you provide no counterexamples of your own. You don’t even point out specific examples of why my arguments are illogical. So up to this point in your response, you have done nothing but solidify in my mind that you are an idiot.

Ok cybereaper, I’ll pick up where I left off. Just in case you didn’t notice, this is my third post in response to your last post, so see above if you haven’t already.
At this point in your response, you say that “Those of us who do work for a living - and work hard - unlike you, do not berate or degrade others.” First of all, you assume that I do not work hard, which is an unfounded assumption. I do in fact work hard, and if the degree of work performed is measured by how many years you went to school and how many hours you work a week, then statistically I can guarantee that I work much harder than you do. You claim that if I worked hard, I wouldn’t degrade others. Some kid called me an idiot using flawed reasoning, and I simply put him in his place with logical fact. I think setting people straight is the right thing to do; after all, would you want to live in a world where kids think they are always right? Of course not! Set them straight early, or else they will grow up attached to their misguided beliefs.
You go on to say that because kids don’t work as hard as adults - and that they shouldn’t be expected to - that my argument is flawed. However, this doesn’t make sense. If some guy walked up to you and called you a loser because you don’t have a Lamborghini and he does, would you be offended? How about if this guy inherited this Lamborghini from his father, and has done nothing to deserve it? What the kid did in his post was far worse than this. He asked what he believed to be a rhetorical question: “fool… don’t tell me people still have basic cable….” He is insulting every single person that cannot afford the money or time to indulge in the luxury of advanced television. This behavior is elitist. He did nothing to deserve this luxury…his parents gave it to him. But HE is the one dishing out the insults. So my retort was justified. Therefore, you have not showed that my argument is flawed; in fact, I have presented evidence that you, mr. cybereaper, are completely incorrect.
You then say that I did not recognize your obvious reference to writer Aaron McGruder when you spoke of Huey thinking that I’m dumb. Of course I noticed this. Refer to that post: “And since the writer of this cartoon has never met me, he cannot possibly have an opinion about me.” I was simply pointing out that no matter how a person interpreted your bizarre statement, it would be false.
You then go on to say that I am attacking people’s rights of free speech. You also add that Dr. King fought for equality as opposed to superiority, and that giving into authoritarian rule will eventually lead to oppression.
Alright, first of all, I am not attacking anyone’s right to free speech. You can post “BOYCOTT BET” all you want to. What I am saying is that this action is pointless, so there’s no reason for it. Just because you have the right to free speech doesn’t mean you should run around saying things that don’t matter and will have zero effect on our world.
You seem to think that BET is developing into some sort of authoritarian body. What you don’t seem to understand is that BET has no way of forcing its beliefs onto anyone. A person has to choose to watch BET, and if they don’t like all the booty-bouncing, they can simply change the channel (basic cable comes with about 75 channels). People do not change the channel, so they must like booty-bouncing. So to cause any kind of change at all, chanting “BOYCOTT BET” will have zero effect. You have to make the majority of people that watch TV dislike booty-bouncing, which is what BET promotes. Once you do that, BET will be forced to change its ways. They are simply playing what is popular. Think about it. If BET is cancelled today, then another station is going to come along and play what the people want: booty-bouncing. It is a never ending cycle until you create general distaste of this type of music in the general population.

It is a fact that BET plays more music than VH1 and MTV, its not strategic media training. You then say that people should be able to watch whatever they like, presumably by use of the internet. This is inherently an elitist statement, because not everybody has an internet that is fast enough to download video at a realistic speed (dial up). That is why BET exists. So people that don’t have a speedy internet connection can watch their favorite music videos on TV.
You wrap it up by saying that I am an idiot for trying to suppress liberty by using arguments that are illogical and ignorant. I’m not trying to suppress liberty at all; I’m just pointing out that BET will not be boycotted. I provide a slew of logical and reasonable points as to why it won’t be boycotted. If you think I’m wrong, try to prove it. You did nothing but assert that I was stupid, lazy, and ignorant. Yet you provide no counterexamples to any of my arguments, nor do you use hard evidence to prove me wrong. BET is in fact on the air. People watch it, so it is not being boycotted. I dare you to go to BET’s headquarters and throw up picket signs, demanding that it be boycotted immediately. It will do you no good, and you know it. That is my argument. Protesting against a manifestation of a people’s interest will do you no good. I’m not attacking your liberty. I’m telling you that you’re wasting your time.
So to conclude, you sir are a complete moron. Does this matter in the big scope of things? Probably not. However, just imagine a world that is free of unfounded moronic rationale. Wouldn’t it be such a great place to live? Hah, I can only dream.

To Who Wants Some, I am really sick and tired of you using this argument of “BET plays more videos than VH1 or MTV combined”. First, before I go on, I will state that I am about to be a college grad and that I refuse to sit here and call someone “stupid”, “ignorant”, or a “moron” because they chose to go against my beliefs, because to me that’s not helping anyone’s argument. Now with saying that, the argument that people will not boycott BET because it shows more videos than VH1 and MTV doesn’t make any sense and is unfounded. For one, there is no concrete proof for that unless you can look BET’s viewing schedule and compare and contrast them to MTV and VH1’s. In fact, a previous poster has already stated that if you want videos or just music in general, there is VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul, MTV2, Music Choice and then there are countless online services and most importantly, YouTube. Two, you say that one person blocking BET won’t matter to them and that’s true, but that doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t voice their opinion, which is their right to do. To say that means that you might have a problem with something and be willing to just let something slide and not do anything about it, which is illogical if you think about it. Finally, it doesn’t make sense for BET not to be worried about black people boycotting their station, yet it is a problem for white people to boycott the station. If you are going to throw the word ‘logical’ around please make sure to use it in it’s correct context and make sure that you really have some logical material behind it to support it. I can see what you are trying to say ‘whowantsome’, (even though I am against it) but you aren’t helping your argument at all by trying to “educate” people with empty evidence and random statements that have an “I am smart and you’re not” tone to them.
As far as the topic itself, BET should be ashamed of themselves for even being bothered by The Boondocks. I mean it is a social satire on black culture and it hits on some very personal, hard truths for our culture. If Condeleeza Rice could withstand Aaron McGruder’s comments that he made to HER FACE one year at the NAACP Awards after they sat him beside her, then BET shouldn’t be upset at all. BET is trash and they know it. Most of the shows on there are don’t touch on anything relevant and they are now copying other shows from MTV and other networks(College Hill = The Real World, Baldwin Hills = Laguna Beach, and College Hill: Interns = The Apprentice). The clip I saw of the banned episode hit on all of that and all I have to say is that if the show was pulled because of BET not wanting it to air then BET itself SHOULD be pulled.

My statement that BET plays more music than MTV and VH1 is not unfounded; in fact, I did exactly what you mentioned in your post. They do play more music, period. Next, you ramble off about VH1 Soul, MTV Hits, blah blah blah…I already stated that those channels don’t come on basic cable (only BET, MTV, and VH1 on basic cable), and not everyone can afford upgraded cable packages asshole. Same with the internet: if you have a slow internet, downloading videos is quite cumbersome. Elitists like yourself look down on the poorer people. Next you misinterpret my argument, and for some reason you think that I said BET doesn’t care if black people boycott them. Of course they care you dipshit. My point was that black people WON’T boycott them, because too many black people love booty-bouncing music videos. “The inner glow…call your brother ’son’” Brother here can be applied not as a sibling but as a spiritual brother, a brother working towards the same end. To call him son would mean to assume leadership. The inner glow is a call to leadership.
“The story that’s…of what’s to come” This is to the changes that people like Malcolm X, MLK, Gandhi, and all other revolutionaries have started, they never truly got to see them finished, they were only the first chapter, the promise of what’s to come.
Last line is fairly straightforward. Keep in mind this is what I get from the song, and I do believe it is fairly accurate interpretation but as with most songs, words can be applied to different things.

Though I did laugh here & there, usually they keep me laughing throughout the entire episode. & I thought the ending was just gay. Idk. Someone on here is impersonating me, because I made no comment at 6:12 am on February 18th, 2008. If you’re going to feebly attempt to challenge me, at least do so with another name. There are infinite possible combinations of letters, so there’s no excuse for anyone to be named “WhoWantsSome?!” if he/she is not me.
Seemingly everyone I converse with on this forum is a dipshit, whether they think they are intelligent or not, so I’m insulting all of you, not myself. And it is true that nobody cares about anybody else but himself/herself. Be it a doctor, firefighter, red cross worker, greenpeace, spouse, whatever. There is always an ulterior motive, and nobody will ever truly care about you. Sure, volunteers don’t get paid, but a lot of people get pleasure from helping others. It makes them feel good about themselves, which is not the same as actually caring about another person. And keep in mind, kindness and caring are not the same thing. Lots of people are kind to others, but deep down they really don’t give a shit about them. If a doctor fails to save that 12 year old boy, he isn’t going to kill himself. He’s going to move on with his life, because in the end, this event is meaningless, and he doesn’t care. Feeling bad for a husband because he doesn’t land a big promotion isn’t caring; it is empathy, and being empathetic is not the same as being caring.
It is hard-wired into your internal programming not to put the lives of other organisms above your own. There’s nothing you can do about it. No matter how much you want to disagree with me, you don’t care about anyone. If organisms were capable of truly caring for other organisms, survival of the fittest would not be a law, and nature would look much different than it does today.
And to clarify, I really don’t mind reading posts like “Boondocks is the shit son”. What I can’t stand is reading posts like “yo boondocks is da ish mane…dat dat dat dats da show mane”. Sentences like these give me nightmares.

It’s been 3 weeks since the last episode. Is Season 2 finished or what??? If it is, they need to go ahead and put it on DVD. I missed the entire second season and didn’t learn about Adult Swim and all that other *hit until now.
As soon as I found out that this comic strip was a cartoon show, I went to best buy real quick and copped the Season 1 DVD. Somebody let me know what’s good….

Damn. Wish y’all could find somewhere else for that crap. I’m surprised that nobody’s mentioned what the end of season 2 was really about - and it wasn’t Riley being gay. The subtle theme in the background of it all was over the media and their influence on people and what media icons can get away with in front of everyone these days. Gangstalicious has been given more leeway as a media icon than most, and this last episode was a perfect example of that. In the press, popularity is made, and broken overnight. The influences of trends will come faster than any, one human being can keep up with. Parents/adults are also too busy with their own agendas (ie. grandad) to pay attention to the real, underlying problems.
I have yet to meet one child who is not heavily influenced by the peer pressure that is exerted upon them as a direct result of trends created by the media. 20 years ago, if we went against this trends, and we tried to dress in all black and avoid colors, we were shunned and hated more for being, ‘different.’ Today, Manson and others have made being different part of the culture and pressure and there is no being different. There used to be neighborhood - hell - entire sections of a city that we couldn’t go into wearing blue or red beyond just being some stupid outsider who didn’t know the difference. If we knew, and we still went against it - there were people who would shoot you because of their own, political war going on. Today, while these factions in sub-cultures still exist, it’s all good to wear any color or style you want as long as a respected member of the rapper community wore it on television (yeah - don’t argue it’s not - cause if snoop, whose hair has often times looked gay-er than a male ballerina, wore a pink, wifebeater - then EVERYONE would).
What makes this dangerous is that one wrong word, decision or action by the media, and it can cost a person their life. While a lot of rappers have changed their music and style for this reason alone, the fact that kids, and adults for that matter, still look up to these guys as the ’soldiers,’ preaching the word on the street for the brothers - is a sign that we [as a people] have not progressed far enough in evolution to see through the trees in the forest.
Even Huey is susceptible to this in all we see, trying to fight for causes that are not his, reminiscent of the liberal, special rights’ groups that keep causing problems for everyone else, based on what’s popular and/or, just the opposite. Because one woman’s having her feeding tube pulled and the peoples’ right groups jump all over it, so does the nation - for all 10 seconds it lasts. It ignores the scores of others going through the same thing. And, on the opposite end, Huey finds himself trying to help push his grandfather’s ignorance over the reality behind Riley’s behavior so he can benefit from it. Can’t blame him - but that’s just more evidence of the real problems being caused in America.
It’s too bad McGruder doesn’t get more recognition for these episodes…. you see - proof of everything I’ve just said, exists in the fact that he received an award for the Martin Luther King episode. While it was good, it’s message and meaning were no more or less important than the message in this episode. McGruder makes a point that should wake everyone up - hell - look at the damned arguments going on in here. Everyone of you - and Myself included - should stop and reread this whole thing - and then wonder, what in the hell happened to us? When did we get so far lost? When did TV and the need to argue and fight and the fear of being defaced in front of others matter so? I love anime for this reason - because when those who are powerful and know it are insulted, they don’t respond. They don’e need to. In fact, those who want to fight and cause dissention, are amongst the lowest of all creatures. Look at the primaries! I posted an article on my townhall blog: stopthesuffering.townhall.com - where i pointed out that the black and white argument going on in the campaigns right now, is proof of how stupid everything is getting. Shut it all off. No computer, no television, no radio for a month (your own music’s fine- just no radio). I had to do this recently, for 3 months in fact, due in no small part to the circumstances I find myself in, but still managed to get on a computer because i found I couldn’t go without it. I even put my cell phone down and only made calls when i was at home like a regular land line for several weeks.
You know what? It was nice. Even my computer use was limited to watching bleach, naruto or the boondocks - no emails, no constant barrage of input from the media - none of it. I shopped less, felt less rushed and found less pushed by other people (although I spent more time around people than usual). Just try it - to the extent that you notice how often you do these things, and how many commercials you see and how much you’re bombarded with. It’s not to say TV’s bad, or the internet’s bad, just that the influences from being constantly bombarded are not good. The content of the shows we watch and the music we listen to, suddenly becomes - stupid. Just like in McGruder’s last episode of this season - homies over ho’s - it’s imperitive to actually stop and listen to the words. Great beat easy to listen to - but as Huey noticed with the sexual inuendo’s hidden in the video - we let this stuff get to us. Aaron McGrudor - I salute you for this episode, it was an excellent commentary to leave us with - and I only hope that people recognize what it is you’re trying to say and do - and you get an award for this one too.
Oh yeah - and a little more from Mr. Samuel Jackson and snoop next season- I love the celebrity fill ins! Hell - more of everyone - the meanings behind these episodes rival what futurama and southpark anyday!!

The two missing episodes have in fact aired in Canada about two weeks ago. The episodes names were The Hunger Strike(episode 14) and The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show (episode 15). The Hunger Strike is when Huey has a hunger strike untill BET makes a public apology for making BET, cancel BET, and all it’s employees commit japanese ritual suicide. This episode was allegedly supposed to air BEFORE the S-word considering how they introduce Rollo Goodlove in this episode. In The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show Uncle Ruckus gets a show on BET and figures out that he is black and not “revitilgo” and has to adjusted to black lifestyle. He is actually 102% black.

Hey, cybereaper, you’re great. Your post about the last episode of season two was completely worth my time to read, and you know time is valuable these days.
Seriously, this show reaches levels that I never expected from a cartoon. It’s not that I never see cartoons with thought-provoking messages, it’s just that this one is so current, it’s fantastic!
I also must say, before watching this show I was entirely ignorant of most of the ocnflicts in this show. I come from an area that’s, hm… Not diverse, extremely conservative, and extremely sheltered. I come from a community that is a middle class soccer mom pta community. Lame as it sounds, this show has honestly made me take a broader look at what’s going on in my country. I won’t say I agree with all the points made in it, because I don’t think I’ve explored them all. But it’s definitely made me curious.
I’m so ready for the next episode.
